Goli Matcha Mind Gummies review: 250 mg of Cognizin and how much matcha

Depends

The citicoline is a branded, studied ingredient, and 250 mg is half the dose used in the main memory trial. The matcha is 100 mg, a small fraction of a cup. The serving has 6 g of sugar.

What the front says. What the label answers.

The left column is the brand's own wording. The right column is what we found when we turned the bottle around.

The front says The label says
"Matcha Mind" 100 mg of matcha powder per serving. A traditional cup of matcha uses about 2,000 mg.
"Made with Cognizin" 250 mg of Cognizin citicoline per three-gummy serving.
"Supports focus and attention" That is Goli's claim for Cognizin. A published memory trial used 500 mg a day.
"Vegan, gelatin-free" Set with pectin. 6 g of sugar, 35 calories and 30 mg of sodium per serving.

Three gummies, one serving, 6 g of sugar.

Amounts are per serving of three gummies, taken once a day.

The headline ingredient by weight is the citicoline: 250 mg. The matcha is 100 mg, a tenth of a gram.

The page does not list caffeine. With a tenth of a gram of matcha, expect far less than a cup of tea or coffee.

Goli Matcha Mind Gummies reviewed the way we review everything: we read the label, do the arithmetic and tell you who it fits. Amounts below come from Goli’s own product page.

What is in it

Cognizin citicoline and matcha powder (Camellia sinensis leaf), with a gummy base. Goli’s product page lists the two active ingredients and the nutrition values; check the bottle for the full list of other ingredients.

What citicoline is, and what the research used

Citicoline is a compound the body uses to make a building block of brain cell membranes. Cognizin is a branded form made by Kyowa Hakko.

A 2021 randomized trial in healthy older adults with age-related memory complaints gave participants 500 mg of Cognizin a day for 12 weeks. A serving of Matcha Mind supplies 250 mg, half of that.

Half a studied dose is not nothing, but it is not the studied dose either. Goli says Cognizin supports focus, attention and cognitive health. Those are the brand’s claims.

How much matcha is 100 mg?

A bowl of matcha is usually made with about 2 g of powder, which is 2,000 mg. One serving of these gummies has 100 mg, one twentieth of that.

So the matcha here is closer to a flavor and a name than to a cup of tea. The same goes for caffeine and L-theanine: the page lists neither, and with this little matcha there will not be much of either.

The sugar

Six grams per serving is the highest single-serving sugar figure among the Goli products we have checked so far. It is one serving a day, so it does not multiply further.

What we did not test

This is a label review. We did not taste the gummies or send them to a lab, and we have no data on how they hold up in heat. Flavor descriptions and benefit claims on this page are the brand’s. If we test anything later, this page will say so, with the date.

Bottom line

This is a citicoline gummy with a little matcha, not a matcha gummy with a little citicoline. Read that way, the label is honest about what is inside.

The verdict is “depends”: it fits if you want a moderate amount of a branded citicoline in a gummy and 6 g of sugar is fine. It does not fit if you wanted the effect of a cup of matcha.

Who it is for. Who should leave it on the shelf.

Worth it if

  • You want citicoline and do not want capsules.
  • You are happy with a moderate amount, half of the dose used in the main trial.
  • You want something without a meaningful caffeine load.
  • You want a vegan, gelatin-free gummy.

Skip if

  • You want the caffeine and L-theanine of real matcha. Drink the tea.
  • You want the full 500 mg of citicoline used in research.
  • You are limiting added sugar.
  • You are pregnant or breastfeeding. Ask your health care provider before taking this.
  • You are under 18. This site reviews supplements for adults only.
